From CATS to Annie

Anotnia Arts took CATS off Broadway and up to the Paramount Center for the Arts in Peekskill, NY this past April. The cast performed for a full house, as well as a special performance for surrounding school districts and senior citizen centers.

The production was featured in the New York Times, the Journal News and the North County News but the excitment isn't over yet. A little over three months later, Anonia Arts is ready to take on another Broadway standard, "Annie."

Many actors and actresses got their start playing in the cast of "Annie" and now it's your turn. In order to prepare for this full musical theater production, Antonia Arts will be holding a one-week theater/dance instensive to work on technique skills. This workshop will take place in late July and will culminate in a final showcase on July 30th.

In August we will be having a series of workshops (1, 2 and 3 weeks) where "Annie" will be the focus. The workshop will cover all aspects of theater ranging from auditons, to acting, to vocals and dance as well as behind the scenes work in lighting, sound and stage craft. Students will develop and perform comic strips as well as excerpts from the musical "Annie." Students must audition to participate (this is strictly for placement purposes). This workshop will also culminate in a final showcase on August 21st.

The Antonia Arts produced CATS earned the hearts of fans by being an inclusive cast of all ages and abilities. Antonia Arts plans to do the same with its full production of "Annie" which will take the stage this November.
